Montgomery Water Heater Damage
The saved space in the living area of a Montgomery home by installing the water heater in the attic can sometimes lead to damage. With our customers out of town, the leak soaked into stored items, the insulation, and the gypsum board ceiling panels which sagged from the weight of the water. The carpet was wet from the dripping water. Our SERVPRO technicians responded quickly, inspected the water damaged area and poked some weep holes in the ceiling to release the water and remove a safety hazard. A controlled demolition removed the waterlogged debris and exposed the attic for drying with forced warm air and dehumidification, and then applying an antimicrobial agent to help inhibit the growth of mold. The moisture was vacuumed out of the carpet, and the hole was sealed with plastic sheeting until the repair could begin. The Before and After Photo depicts the professional job by our SERVPRO technicians. We are ready to help, 24/7.
